It’s been a busy few months……back in March it was my grandson Stanley’s 1st birthday, lots of excitement, mainly by his older brother Douglas, but also by parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins. I think the one thing that Stan was most inpressed with was his chocolate birthday cake. He tried a little of the frosting and was totally hooked – first time he’d tasted chocolate and you could tell he’d found his heaven LOL
I then went on a fabulous holiday with my husband and two dear friends. The weather was gorgeous, the relaxation was just what was needed and we also got to swim with sharks, a turtle and explore a shipwreck!!!
I may have only lasted 4 or 5 minutes with the sharks before the theme tune to Jaws started playing in my head – which prompted a swift exit from the sea, knackering my knee in the process – but I did it. Something I never thought I’d do, not even on my bucket list, but you only live once, so I thought I’d give it a go.
When we got home, we had Easter and while I don’t do egg hunts, Doug had an Easter bonnet competition at nursery. He helped his mummy create a fabulous bonnet of a rabbit disappearing down a rabbit hole – well done Dougie!!!
The it was Doug’s 3rd birthday and he was VERY excited. He wanted a Moana party, so I helped mummy make a boat, coconut cups and a big wave of balloons. Luckily the weather stayed dry, so Doug and his friends could all play in the garden and they had great fun.
Lastly it was my birthday……Doug and Stan got me some lovely gifts (and helped me unwrap them) and I had a chilled day, lunch with hubby and time in the sun in the garden – it was bliss. In the last couple of weeks, I’ve been having fun making crepe paper flowers, very addictive and I get to peel glue of my fingers afterwards – reminds me school LOL!!!
Now all the recent busyness is over, I will be working on some bags – some just for fun and one that’s in my head and I need to write a pattern for because I will be teaching this one at the sewing retreat in October……oh and I’ve also joined Moda Blockheads 6, so let’s see if I can keep up with it all.
I’ve had a fab few months, but it is nice to get back to normality and get on with some work again xx
